The Dish!

Road-tripping from Melbourne to Brisbane, we stopped in at Parkes, NSW to see the CSIRO Radio Telescope made famous by the great Australian movie, "The Dish"! I must admit it was an impressive sight. I am fascinated by science and technology and this particular icon represents a proud moment in Australian history, when the signal for the moon landing was beamed around the world.

Creative landscapes

I took this shot back in 2012 when I was on a camping trip to Dimboola. I liked the reflection on the water, but it was a dull day and the image just wasn't jumping out at me, so I thought I would play around with some effects. The solarisation effect reminds me of the film clip to the David Bowie song, Ashes to Ashes! I am quite happy with the result, but happy to hear what you think!

Hong Kong shower

I occasionally like to share some of my personal work on here. This shot was taken on a trip to Hong Kong in 2008. There was a fountain in a public square where children were running through to cool off. The sun was also setting and I noticed the way the light was reflecting on the water showering down, so I grabbed my camera and caught a pic of this girl running through the water.

New Functions Venue

The newly renovated Richmond Rowing Club.
The latest function venue in the CNK Food Design portfolio.

The outdoor area is ideal for cocktails and has a view of the river and the Melbourne skyline.

Just one of the many possibilities in terms of dining set up for your function.

We were commissioned to get some shots of the newly refurbished Richmond Rowing Club. This venue is perfectly located right on the Yarra overlooking the city skyline. For details of how to book your event at this venue, contact CNK Food Design (www.cnkfooddesign.com.au).

CNK Food Design Function @ Old Melbourne Gaol

We were recently commissioned to photograph a function at the Old Melbourne Gaol for master caterers, CNK Food Design. The gaol is an amazing venue for functions of all kinds. It offers something unique in terms of the ambience and is part of Melbourne's history, so it is always a pleasure when we are called upon to photograph functions there. If you have any queries about functions at this venue, please head to cnkfooddesign.com.au for more information.

Our Coat of Arms!

We met this curious little fella on a recent trip to Gumbuya Park out at Tynong. It was nice to be able to get up close. No matter how many times I see a kangaroo, I am always fascinated - especially when they go bounding off through the bush. They are beautiful creatures - a wonder of evolution and a National symbol of Australia!

We also saw a few Emus. Not so cuddly! Emus are strange creatures whose big feet seem to be disproportionate to the rest of their body! And they make weird, deep throat noises! Nevertheless, a bird native to our shores and on our National coat of arms!
